his first haircut

Wee man got his first haircut.  We wanted it to grow out all long and curly but he is just not a curly-haired boy.  He has stick straight hair and we could not let him rock the mullet any longer.

I found some fantastic natural light in the waiting area.

We got comfy while we waited for our stylist.

Sometimes a snack and a short video are a necessary momentary distraction.

And now we have an even more grown up looking little boy.

  1. Wow! What a milestone. He looks stylin’ with his new ‘do.

I know what you mean about the baby mullet… I’m just hoping Nora’s gets long enough for a couple of wee pigtails before the mullet becomes too pronounced.

Haha, we’re rocking the mullet but it’s curly enough to get away with. Where he got curls I have no idea!
He does look very grown up with a haircut!

Haircuts have a way of making little ones look so grown up! Kale got a trim this weekend too :)

  4. Oh man, what a cutie! This is a rare makeover before and after shot because he looks equally adorable both ways! We’re thinking about getting our little guy’s hair cut soon, too. We’d grow it forever if it were our choice, but we’ve noticed him pulling large chunks of his hair out and generally messing with it, especially when it’s so hot outside. I think he’d like to have it off his ears and neck. Where did you go to have it done?

We went to Birds on Burnet. I would call ahead to ensure you get somebody good with kids. We just went in and the person we were supposed to get had somebody else do the cut. It worked out well but I would try to avoid that in the future.
